4-Ingredient Chocolate Easter Egg Nest Cupcakes
Move over egg decorating – this year it’s all about cupcake decorating in our house. Today we are sharing one of our favorite family traditions with you – decorating cupcakes for the Easter Bunny.
So, in our house it’s cookies for Santa and cupcakes for the Easter Bunny – still to this day even though the kids are teenagers 🙂 It’s one of my favorite traditions.
Cooking is all about creating memories and family bonding experiences. Our kitchen is the hub of our household – it’s the place where we hang out together and talk about anything. We are always looking for fun, inexpensive things that we can do together as a family that will help create those lasting memories. Traditionally when I was growing up we always had lots of fun decorating eggs this time of year. Well, time passed we have moved on to something far yummier…..cupcakes. They are fun to decorate and even more fun to eat!
I mean seriously – at the end of craft time together wouldn’t you rather eat a cupcake than an egg? I know I would…..maybe even two cupcakes 🙂 Kids get so excited about projects in the kitchen. It’s so special to make something together and then sit down at the table and enjoy eating and sharing it together. They always got so excited about picking which cupcake each of them would leave the Easter Bunny.
Let me start by telling you I am not a crafty person….at all. I like artsy things……but I am not “crafty”. I wanted something that looked super cute but that was EASY to make. Fun + Delicious + Easy = Win
This is a super easy project. All you need is:
- 1 box Pillsbury Cake Mix – chocolate (plus ingredients for making batter)
- 1 Pillsbury Frosting – chocolate (tub, 16 oz.)
- Dark Chocolate (shaved)
- Blue coated candy (you can find these at just about any grocery store – get multi-colored if you can’t find blue)
Have fun and get creative.
Wait until we share the vanilla cupcake decorations we did – you are going to absolutely love them – I mean absolutely love them. Check back in April when we share the second half of our “Mix Up a Moment with Pilsbury Cake Mix and Frosting”. We are all about cupcakes this Easter.
