Best Ever Burger Seasoning
Savory, sweet, and spicy. The perfect combination for an absolutely mouth-watering burger!
I am kinda a stickler when it comes to homemade burgers. Like I said before, I’m a fruit and veggies kind of girl, so I’m only going to eat a burger if it’s a really, really good burger. And these my friends, are the most amazing burgers ever. Savory, sweet, and spicy. The perfect combination for an absolutely mouth-watering burger!
Use this seasoning and I promise you will never, ever go back to the pre-made frozen patties you can buy from grocery store.
Tips for grilling the perfect burger:
I like my seasoning mixed into the burger so that every bite is full of flavor.
Overworking ground meat makes it tough, so a gentle hand is key.
Use your thumb to make a depression in the center of one side of the burger to help keep the surface level while it cooks and to keep it from puffing up.
We have found that a light coating of vegetable oil on the side of the burger hitting the grill first proved to be the best method for preventing sticking. If your meat is on the lean side, you might want to lightly brush the other side with oil before turning it over.
When grilling, don’t press on the meat with your spatula. You want to keep those yummy meat juices inside the patty. Try not to check the underside of your burgers every minute to see if they’re browned yet and just let the burgers be-they need time to create their crust. The burger will ‘talk’ you and tell you it’s ready when the edges start to curl up.
There are tons of fancy ways to grill a burger, but we always use the simple straightforward approach of grilling burgers over direct heat, using medium-hot charcoal or medium heat on a gas grill. If ain’t broke, then why fix it, right? 🙂
The only way to ensure that each burger is cooked to the United States Department of Agriculture’s recommended temperature of 160°F is to use an instant-read thermometer, preferably a digital one.
Enjoy!

Is it one TBSP of Soy and one TBSP of Worst? Or is a total of one TBSP of those two combined??
One Tablespoon of each!
Amazing recipe. Made it last night and everyone loved it. I didn’t have dried onion so I chopped a fresh one and mixed it in.
Just made this recipe with 75% ground moose meat and 25% ground pork. Best burger I ever had.
Can i use onion powder instead of dried minced onion ?
Just made some burgers for the family using this seasoning and it adds a great flavor. Not overwhelming, but strong enough to taste the difference. Thank you!
I think this might be a good Christmas gift for my son in law and my son. How long do you think it would last? Can you keep it with your spices for a while?
All I can say is brilliant! I love this mix of seasoning. It really gave the hamburgers a great taste.
Unfortunately, I thought the soy sauce overpowered the other flavors (which is what soy sauce always does). I’ll try it without the soy and it will likely be much better. The dry seasoning is a good combination for burgers.
Grilled burgers on the grill today, tasted great with this seasoning.
No idea why no one’s ever rated this! This is my GO TO!
Omg that makes me so happy!!
I have been using this burger seasoning for going on 6 years now. It is by far the best homemade seasoning I’ve ever tasted. My husband recently went on a cottage trip with a bunch of his buddies and when I tell you, all 32 burgers I made were gone within the first night, I was floored!! It was supposed to last them two days! I expected them to like them, but I was getting hounded with texts from the wives and girlfriends to pass on the secret!! Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe!!
