20-Minute Sticky Basil Thai Noodles
A super quick and simple Thai-inspired noodles on your table in 20 minutes! Perfect for a weeknight dinner! Add some grilled chicken for extra protein!
Sooo, what started as a love-hate (mainly hate) relationship between me and dinner time has made a miraculous turn around into a love love love relationship. The main reason I never really liked dinner is because I felt like pretty much all the dinner recipes I came across took over an hour to make. And for the dinner time rush, that just isn’t possible. BUT not anymore. Flavor packed, quick and easy/crockpot dinners are where its at. I feel like my whole life has been a lie. Who knew dinner could be so good and also so easy? I just wasn’t looking in the right places.
I have come up with soooo many quick and easy dinner recipes and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
On that note…. I recently set a goal for myself and for the recipes we share on LOH: I want to focus more on super simple/quick recipes, that anyone can/has time to make, while still tasting amazing. I know that the majority of our readers are probably working moms, who hardly have time to sit down, let alone spend all day in the kitchen. So… behold… a year (and possibly forever) of easy recipes coming to you live from the girls behind LOH. 😉
That brings us to these noodles… they seriously taste like something you could order from a Thai restaurant, but they come together in about 7 minutes, and cook for about 10!
There are only 3 steps to the recipe: cook the noodles, add the noodles and sauce to a skillet and simmer until the sauce reduces, then serve and top with fresh basil, green onions, and roasted peanuts!
We normally use whole wheat noodles, but you could also use rice noodles, linguine, or even angel hair pasta.
The sauce is made of vegetable oil, sesame oil, honey, and soy sauce. The oil and soy sauce gives some serious flavor, and the honey gives the perfect amount of sweetness. Another thing the honey does is make the noodles sticky when it reduces… just like at a restaurant!
It’s like magic, I tell you.
My family LOVES this for dinner with diced grilled chicken on top. The chicken soaks up all the yummy flavor and adds a little more protein to the pasta!
If you give this pasta a try, we’d love to know! Leave a comment or tag your picture #layersofhappinessblog on Instagram! When we see everyone enjoying out recipes it always makes our day. Enjoy!

Honestly, this looks super delicious! I’m a big fan of this style of noodles. Honey and soy sauce somehow are a super great combo. If you add it with some extra herbs and spices it’s almost unbeatable.
Will check out your other quick dinner ideas! 🙂

After looking at a few recipes I went with this one exactly. just adding a few things , a tablespoon of peanut butter (which thickened the sauce a bit) And instead of noodles I used my vegetable spiralizer and used yellow sqush noodles and sautéed chopped asparagus to throw in. for a Pretty clean meal this turned out amazing !! I will definitely make this again. Even my fiancé who could care less about being healthy stuffed his face with seconds. His only suggestion was to make some rice as a side dish and poor the glaze over top of it
Woah! Love your alterations! I will definitely have to try that!!

There’s a LOT of oil in here, and you can taste it. I would make it again but cut back considerably on the oil. I used a few packages of sharataki zero noodles and added a ton of stir fry vegies and swapped out some vegetable oil for coconut oil. Next time I’ll swap the vegetable oil for coconut oil. The coconut oil gave it a really nice, mild coconut taste. I would also squeeze a lime on top before serving. Thank you for recipe!I
