Recipe for the Best Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey (add an extra tablespoon of mayo if you get 99% lean)
  • 1/2 cup shaved parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup green onions thinly sliced (about 1 bunch)
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs (or crushed gluten free pretzels)
  • 1 Tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 Tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper

Toppings:

  • American Cheese
  • Honey mustard
  • Shredded lettuce or green leaf lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Pickled Onions
  • Pickles (I like dill!)
  • Brioche buns

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine (with your hands or a spatula) the turkey, cheese, green onions, crushed pretzels, mustard, honey, mayonnaise, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Use a 1/2 cup measuring cup to measure/scoop out burgers.
  • Form into 1-inch thick patties.
  • Preheat the grill to 350-450 degrees. Oil the grill grates so the burgers don't stick. Place the burgers on the grill and cook 7 minutes per side. Melt cheese on top if desired the last 2 minutes of cooking. Serve on a bun with desired toppings.
