1box brownie mix + ingredients needed to make brownies
Coconut layer:
1-1/3cupsflaked coconut
⅓cupsugar
2egg whites
2tablespoonsall-purpose flouryou can use G-F flour here
⅛teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonvanilla extract
⅓cupmilk chocolate chips
⅓cupbutterscotch chips
⅓cupof chopped pecans
Instructions
For the brownie layer:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving a slight overhang; butter bottom and sides of foil (not overhang).
Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions. Spread brownie batter in prepared pan.
Bake just until sides begin to pull away from edges of pan, 10 to 15 minutes (do not overbake). Let cool slightly while preparing coconut topping. Keep oven on for topping.
For the coconut layer:
In a medium bowl, whisk eggs with sugar, salt and vanilla. Gently mix in flour, coconut, chips and pecans.
Spoon macaroon mixture over brownie base; spread evenly. Sprinkle extra coconut if you would like.
Bake until golden brown on top, approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
