Turkey Avocado BLT Sandwich

Sandwiches are my favorite kind of lunch… they can offer a complete and just the nutrients needed to reset and get me back on track. I’m kind of a big sandwich girl. As in, I like sandwiches and I like them big.

This is not your average sandwich. For starters, this is a BLT taken a whole new level! Second, it’s extremely flavorful, filling and healthy – basically the three things I’m going for with any good sandwich. And lastly, it is simple: just 15 minutes and simple ingredients required.

The base starts with creamy avocado slices and nutrient-rich lettuce and tomato slices that a nice bright, crunchy touch. Then comes the all natural turkey slices and bacon… all finished off with a schmear of hummus for good measure.

Come to mama.

All of that goodness is mashed up and piled on top of hearty, toasted wheat bread.

Does lunch get any better? I think not.

Turkey Avocado BLT Sandwich

Creamy avocado, tomato slices, lettuce, Hillshire All-Natural Turkey slices, crispy bacon, and a schmear of hummus sandwiched between two toasty slices of whole wheat bread. A sandwich lover’s dream!

Ingredients:

2 slices whole wheat bread, toasted
hummus
fresh avocado slices
fresh lettuce slices
fresh tomato slices
sliced turkey breast (such as Hillshire All-Natural)
bacon slices, cooked

Directions:

  1. Toast bread (if desired) and prepare any other sandwich toppings you desire (tomato, lettuce, bacon).
  2. Layer ingredients on bread in the order listed. Serve immediately and enjoy!
