We have been trying to put some really great mash-ups out there for you guys and this one is sinfully delicious.  Combining and melting all things we love together in one dish….how could it not be good?

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Cup Brownies

This brownie recipe has a decadent layer of pretzels, peanut butter cups and caramel… it is an all-star, easy-to-follow recipe that will melt your heart.

Ingredients:

8 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter, cut into pieces
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
24 peanut butter cups
salted pretzels
caramel sauce topping

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a 8-inch square baking dish with a sheet aluminum foil. Make sure you get all the way up the sides of the dish. that covers the bottom up over the sides.
  3. Spray the foil with cooking spray.
  4. In a saucepan melt butter, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring constantly over very low heat until the chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth.
  5. Cool chocolate mixture for 15 minutes.
  6. Add in eggs one at a time (stir them in – do not beat them), then stir in the sugar, vanilla and flour.
  7. Pour brownie mixture into baking dish
  8. Completely cover the top of the unbaked brownies with salted pretzels.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes (Do not over-bake) …..sprinkle the 24 large peanut butter cups on top the last 5 minutes of baking to melt the peanut butter cups.
  10. As soon as they come out of the oven, evenly smooth out the peanut butter cups over the brownies.
  11. Let brownies cool.
  12. Drizzle caramel sauce over top of the brownies. You can heat the caramel up a little to make it easier to drizzle. Let completely cool before cutting brownies.
