Oven Roasted Sweet Potatoes – perfectly roasted, seasoned with garlic powder + smoked paprika, and glazed with honey.
I have lots of sweet potatoes recipes on the blog. This is the recipe you should use if you want a whole baked sweet potato but don’t want to wait an hour and a half for it to bake in the oven. And here’s an even faster version if you want them in 15 minutes. I make both of those methods all the time for lunches or quick dinners.
I also have an amazing oven baked sweet potato fry recipe.
But these are perfect if you want a fancy looking sweet potato side dish to serve to a crowd this fall. It’s is my new favorite way to make sweet potatoes. I am obsessed. And I have served them with almost every single fall meal I have made this year.
They are slightly charred, seasoned with smoked paprika, and glazed with honey. Something about finishing the potatoes with honey gives the best flavor.
You can definitely add the honey at the beginning of the recipe. Just make sure you watch them. The honey caramelizes pretty quick. So you have to turn them every so often to even out the caramelization. But the crispy parts are the best anyways.
You can prep the sweet potatoes ahead of time. Peel and cut them into cubes. Then place in the fridge for a couple hours until ready to use.
But I wouldn’t toss them in the oil/seasoning until just before baking.
I love serving these sweet potatoes with our barbecue chip chicken nuggets! Dip both in Chick-Fil-A sauce (!!!!)
Or serve this with a rotisserie chicken and our fuji apple salad. That’s perfect fall weeknight meal right there.
