Grilled Chicken with Lemon Herb Sauce

Calling all easy dinner lovers! *Whole worlds raises hand*

Today’s chicken dish is so super simple and classic – just a perfectly grilled Tyson’s chicken breast served over Birds Eye California Style Protein Blend with a tangy lemon mustard herby sauce drizzled over top.


What can I say? it’s super simple, super easy, super quick– it’s just what my mouth wants to eat every day all day in the summatime. Because let’s be honest, just because the days are longer doesn’t mean dinner time doesn’t sneak up just as fast as it does in the winter time. Easy meals are where it’s at all year long.

What makes this dish so easy?

1. The chicken. We used the Tyson’s “Grilled & Ready” chicken…the chicken is fully-cooked, 98% fat free and it has no preservatives. Two minutes in the microwave and you are good to go. No dirty pans, and NO dirty grill.

2. Birds Eye Protein Blend. For this recipe we used the California Style Protein Blend with whole grains, lentils, peas, broccoli, and edamame – but they are all amazing. These are becoming a staple in our house. Full of flavor and wholesome deliciousness – made in minutes!


3. The lemon herb sauce. Can we just take a moment for this sauce/dressing. When we were in Greece a few weeks ago, they served this sauce over grilled chicken on a Catamaran Dinner Cruise we went on. They actually put it on the fish, shrimp, and chicken but it was extra yummy on the chicken.

The sauce is made of mustard, lemon juice, olive oil, honey, salt, pepper, and oregano. The ingredients are super simple, but when whisked together they create the most amazing tangy/savory/a little bit sweet sauce that takes everything it touches to the next level flavor-wise.

Grilled Chicken with Lemon Herb Sauce


  • 2-4 Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Breast Fillets
  • 1 Bag Bird’s Eye California Style Protein Blend

For the Lemon Herb Sauce:

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (about two lemons) + zest from lemons
  • 3 Tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper


  1. Prepare the rice and chicken according to the package instructions.
  2. To make the sauce: combine olive oil, lemon juice/zest, mustard, honey, oregano, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and whisk until smooth and combined. Set aside
  3. Divide protein blend between two bowls, top each bowl with 1-2 pieces of chicken, drizzle dressing over top. Serve immediately.
