Vegan Caramel Sauce – made with almond “buttermilk” and vegan butter. It’s perfectly rich, sweet, creamy, and out of this world delicious.
Most regular caramel use butter and heavy cream! We use vegan butter and almond “buttermilk” in this recipe.
So we substitute almond “buttermilk” for the heavy cream. To make almond buttermilk, mix almond milk with apple cider vinegar to give it the same flavor as buttermilk.
This recipe has 7 simple ingredients: almond milk, apple cider vinegar, sugar, vegan butter, light corn syrup, baking soda, and vanilla.
The obvious choice would be over some vegan ice cream.
And the easiest option would be with some cut up apples.
Drizzle it over an acai bowl instead of honey or agave.
Or over some vegan blueberry pancakes! Served with some fruit salad on the side would be a breakfast of champions.
You could also make some vegan caramel brownies… mix a can of pumpkin puree + vegan brownie mix together. Then swirl this caramel sauce over the top and bake!
