Friday Favorites {Christmas Edition}

I think Christmas feels like it’s coming a hundred mile per hour this year because Christmas is so close to Thanksgiving this year. I had barely polished off the last slice of leftover turkey before my Facebook and Twitter feeds were blowing up with pictures of people putting up their twinkly lights and holiday decor.

This weekend will be full of lots of Christmas parties… One of them being my own! I know! Two Christmas parties in a row… what was I thinking? Oh well! Wherever you are and whatever you do have a wonderful weekend, and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite Moment:

I absolutely love this moment captured of her three kids sleeping together on Christmas Eve. If you did this every year, it could be so fun to look back at as your kids grow up.

Favorite Holiday Cheer:

Flash Singing Mob. Just when I think we have thought of all the different possibilities to spread Christmas cheer, there are still new creative ways being thought of. My favorite part is at 1:40… but seriously the whole video is awesome. If the video isn’t showing up, try looking at this post from a computer.

Favorite Read:

How to take the Perfect Pictures in front of a Christmas Tree. (click here) In this article, this blogger describes her Christmas Tree photo tradition, as well as describe all the settings to set your camera at to capture the most perfect pictures near the tree… I will definitely be trying this photo out on Christmas Eve.

Favorite Workout:

Christmas Movie Workout. This workout looks like so much fun to do… and all you need is your awesome self, your holiday cheer, and a bunch of Christmas movies.

Favorite Healthy Gift for Friends:

Granola filled Mason Jar. During the holidays, it is typical to give a plate of cookies to co-workers, friends, or neighbors. I love this idea to give a mason jar full of granola instead of sweets. Click here for my favorite granola recipe. This granola is seriously irresistible. It’s has the perfect combination of vanilla, dried cranberries, and pecans… your friends won’t even miss the sweets.

Favorite Twist:

Kindness Elves (Click here). I LOVE this idea and it would be such a fun tradition to create. It’s an alternative to the popular Elf on the Shelf idea, and places the focus instead on positive, character-building activities for kids.

They arrive on December 1st and they are moved somewhere different each morning, sometimes in funny situations and positions, often next to an item that they need for that day’s kindness activity e.g. inside a mixing bowl ready to bake some cookies as a gift. Each time the elf moves, it hold a different suggestion for acts of kindness, love or helpfulness that we can do together that day for e.g. “Let’s collect some of your toys and give them away to the children’s hospital”, “let’s make some cookies for the neighbors”, “shall we visit an elderly friend/ relative?” etc.

Favorite Splurge:

Nutella Crockpot Hot Chocolate. (click here.) This is probably the most perfectly creamy, super sweet hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted and it has been named the best hot chocolate by all of my friends. I just can’t get enough of this stuff.

Favorite Funny:

Guess what day Christmas is on this year?! HUMP DAAAAAY. Haha… Hump day will never get old to me. 🙂

Have a great weekend, everyone! Keep calm… it’s almost Christmas! 🙂
