How to Make Store Bought Ice Cream More Creamy (2-Ingredients, 5 minutes)
Mix ice cream and cool whip together and you have the creamiest ice cream ever. 5 minutes to make and it tastes just like ice cream from an ice creamery shop/parlor!
This right here is why I exercise. It’s the easiest thing in the world to make and one of the best things in this world.
A few weeks ago when we were in Santorini, every night we ordered homemade ice cream served in a fruit bowl from the hotel restaurant. Just imagine every night after dinner: Champagne, homemade ice cream, PJ’s, and chick flicks. Yes, it was the perfect way to spend every single night. Who needs to hit the town when you could be spending the night like that?
On top of that, the ice cream was unbelievably creamy and rich, but light and fluffy at the same time. It was unlike anything I had ever had before.
That got me thinking… how does one make ice cream that creamy and fluffy and thick….
Duh! Add something super creamy and fluffy and thick to the ice cream.
You want both the ice cream and cool whip to be slightly softened, but not too softened. Then, I use a potato masher combine the two in a big bowl. The end product will almost taffy like. So thick and creamy.
If the ice cream gets too melted, I stick it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, remove and stir it around. Less than 20 minutes and you have the best ice cream will ever taste.
My entire family had a wide-eyed “OMG” reaction.
If you don’t finish it all, you can freeze it in a loaf pan and scoop out as needed. The ice cream stays really creamy even after being completely frozen.
We’ve done some pretty awesome things with this ice cream combo, so stay tuned because there is some serious deliciousness coming your way.
2-Ingredient Extra Creamy Ice Cream
Mix ice cream and cool whip together and you have the creamiest ice cream ever. 5 minutes to make and it tastes just like ice cream from an ice creamery shop/parlor!

Ingredients:
1 (1/2 gallon) container Vanilla Ice Cream
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine ice cream and frozen whipped topping using a rubber spatula or a potato masher.
- If mixture is too melted, place in freezer for 10-15 minutes until semi-frozen. Serve immediately for a softer ice cream (this is what we do) or transfer to a loaf pan and freeze for 1-2 hours until firm. Scoop out ice cream as needed. The ice cream will be super creamy either way.

What a great idea! I usually make 2 ingredient ice cream with sweet condensed milk and heavy whipping cream…this sounds so much easier!!!!
Yes!! And there’s no waiting time when a sugar craving kicks in… 😉 Thanks Jocelyn!
I whip heavy cream/no sugar added,to a med. peak.then add vanilla ice cream & a touch of good vanilla and using a hand mixer mix the two together..keep in mind if you mx the heavy cream to long you get butter !.. in my family this is called “Enhanced Ice Cream”….VERY Good Stuff……yes ,you can do it to chocolate ice cream also !
Ooh! I like the name… we don’t really have a name for it haha 🙂
