I am so excited to share this recipe with you. First, I think they are absolutely adorable…..and could be used in so many ways. Easter, birthdays, craft projects for a kids birthday party, a centerpiece for a shower or brunch….on and on. Second, I actually did something crafty 🙂 For those that know me know that I am not a crafty person……..I am artsy but not crafty — there is a difference! But anybody can make this adorable cupcakes — I promise.

What are the petals made of you ask? Marshmallows……..how simple right? It looks so intricate but really it’s secretly super easy 🙂

We had such a great time sitting around the kitchen island talking and having fun making these. I really couldn’t believe how cute they turned out.

I put out several different colors of sprinkles so everyone could get creative in making their flowers. I think next time I’ll make a rainbow one with all kinds of different colors or I think it would be cute to have each of the petal circles to be different colors. Let your creativity fly. That’s part of the reason I think it would be so fun to do with kids – they are so open with their creativity.

We have had so much fun making cupcakes using our Pillsbury cake mix and icing. Spend your time decorating not “making” the cupcakes……because the decorating is the fun part……well, that and eating them 🙂

Easy 4 Ingredient Flower Cupcakes Recipe

Create your own flower cupcake garden with this easy, adorable recipe.  These cupcakes are perfectly simple and inexpensive to make.  Grab your favorite little one and create a lasting memory.

Ingredients:

1 box  Pillsbury Cake Mix – vanilla or funfetti  (plus ingredients for making batter)

1 Pillsbury Frosting  – vanilla (tub, 16 oz.)

sprinkles (any color – small sprinkles work best)

small marshmallows (about 20 per cupcake)

Directions:

bake cupcakes according to instructions

While the cupcakes are baking cut marshmallows.  Hold the marshmallow so that it is angled to make a diamond shape and then cut them in half.  That will create the petal shape.

Put the sprinkles in a bowl.  (a bowl for each color of sprinkles that you have)

Ice the cooled cupcakes.  Make sure you put plenty of icing on the cupcakes as that will help the petals stick to the top…..well, that and I like a lot of icing 🙂

Place the sticky side of the cut marshmallow in the sprinkles and get the petal covered in sprinkles.

Place the sprinkled marshmallows on the cupcake.  Start with the outer circle first then the middle circles and then the center.

Fill the center of the flower with sprinkles (you could use a different color for this).

Sit back and admire your adorable cupcake – share them and enjoy.
